Today marks the 20th anniversary of my first encounter with the works of JRR Tolkien, which in itself is a cause for celebration. I can safely claim that this encounter has had a deep impact on my life on many, many levels. So here’s to the Professor, and the next twenty years of living in Middle-earth.

To celebrate the day, have a (not quite finished) series of watercolour paintings I created for the story “The Disaster of the Gladden Fields" from Unfinished Tales.

Of course, today’s drawing for my Sherlock advent-calendar will also be Tolkien-related. Gonna finish it now.
